The Long Beach Chair

I wanted to get a chair out to Long Beach California. But it costs about $300 just to have one shipped due to the size. Turns out they have to go freight on a pallet due to their dimensions. So….I packed up the pieces and parts in my ski travel bag and checked it. I was a bit worried that weight and some of the items in my suitcase might be an issue. They did inquire and I told the truth about what was in the bag…’skis-n-stuff’.  Some of the wood base did get a bit dinged up. I probably could have packed it better. I know better for next time. Instead of just the chair being sent out for $300. I bought a round trip Southwest airline ticket for $150….and we all went to Cali.  All skis were pre cut, holes were pre-drilled and wood was cut and painted in advance. I assembled the chair when I got there.
