Colorado Ski Furniture
SKI-TEC, based in Denver, specializes in creating custom ski furniture out of unwanted skis and snowboards. We take pride in being able to recycle items and provide our fellow citizens with 100% unique ski furniture. SKI-TEC Adirondack chairs are the most common piece of patio furniture we build, but we do build snowboard benches and patio tables from time to time.
Please let us know if you have a custom request. If you have some skis in your garage that you don’t want to give up, but know you will never use again…why not turn them into furniture so you can hold on to all the great memories they provided over the years? We can use YOUR skis for YOUR chair. Our chairs are quite comfortable and great conversation pieces!
We can guarantee you won’t find another one EXACTLY like it anywhere in the world. How many people can say that about their patio furniture? Re-designing the world…..one patio at a time
How did Denver based SKI-TEC start recycling skis into chairs?
My Grandfather and I decided we needed a project. Having grown up in Colorado, being an avid skier for many years, and spending a lot of time in the Colorado mountains, I have seen a number of recycled ski chairs but was never been able to find one to buy locally. Since skis are not really something you can sell after they’ve been used and abused (although some people on Craigslist seem to think a 20 year old pair of skis is still worth $50..I digress), I found my garage filled with a sizable collection of old skis just gathering dust. What should i do with these???? Hmmm…Why not chop ‘em up? After a few hours, a few saw blades, and lots of smoke and sparks, we had successfully chopped up our first batch of skis. We then looked at a number of Adirondack patio chairs and concocted the design for our base. After a few hours of “measure once, cut twice” we had finally finished our first Adirondack chair made from snow skis. The basic design is still being used but with a few refinements, upgrades and even a secret ingredient not available in stores. You can see some of the pics from the first chair…..here
